This assignment supports an environmental study on "Ecological and Land Use Classification at Kamiali Wildlife Management Area" in the Kamiali Wildlife Management Area located in Huon District of Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea led by the Morobe Development Foundation in partnership with local communities with donor support from the Biodiversity Climate Fund.

The study aims to assess environmental changes and impacts to inform conservation programs and sustainable development planning, which is part of MDF mission and objectives in carrying out community development projects in PNG to address environment and climate change issue and in turn will also support in promoting SDGs challenges in the same area.

To that end, we are seeking the support from Online Volunteers through this online collaboration opportunities. Online Volunteers will be properly acknowledged in the final study depending on their contribution and receive certificate through this platform.

We are looking for four online volunteers with expertise in GIS to collaborate on finalizing and editing an existing document titled "Ecological and Land Use Classification at Kamiali Wildlife Management Area, Huon District, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea". The successful candidates, leveraging their expertise and experience, will be adept at comprehending the document, filling in any gaps, and preparing it for the final review phase.

The four volunteers will be specifically involved in the following tasks: a) Conducting Literature Review b) Conduct GIS Mapping, analysis and writing c) Proof reading and formatting the paper d) Review, proof reading and referencing

Required skills: - Writing and editing - GIS analysis - Remote sensing - Ability to communicate and work onward deadlines - English; excellent writing and communication skills - Landsat, Google Earth and a wide range of GIS applications

Desired skills: - Degree in GIS, remote sensing, environmental science, geography or related field - PhD preferred but not required - Knowledge of/experience with landslide and earthquake mapping
