The UN Country Team (UNCT) in Tajikistan is approaching the end of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) (2023-2026) cycle. As such, the preparations for the upcoming UNSDCF (2027-2030) have started. The United Nations Country Analysis (UNCA) is one of the milestones for the development of the Cooperation Framework, which underpins the strategic prioritization and design of the new UNSDCF. The UNCA is the UN system’s independent, impartial and collective analysis of a country’s development context for developing the Cooperation Framework. It examines progress, gaps, opportunities and bottlenecks vis-à-vis a country’s commitment to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda) and SDGs, UN norms and standards, and the principles of the UN Charter, including as reflected in the Cooperation Framework Guiding Principles.

The UNCT in Tajikistan recently launched the process for the development of the new UNCA for Tajikistan. UNRCO is coordinating the process with UNCT. The selected online volunteer will have a unique opportunity to enhance his/her professional skills in an international development context, expand cross-cultural communication abilities, and contribute to impactful work of UN system in Tajikistan. The Online Volunteer will be responsible for: • Providing selected written analytical contents for the UNCA. • Supporting the RCO in quality assuring the draft UNCA document by editing and proofreading the UNCA for clarity, consistency in language, style and formatting. The Online Volunteer will: 1. Check the language for clarity, coherence, and logical flow of content, making suggestions for improvements and providing content where necessary. 2. Edit and proofread the draft document for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall language quality (45-80 pages). 3. Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting across the report. 4. Verify that references, footnotes, and annexures are correctly formatted. 5. Coordinate as necessary with agencies responsible for specific chapters, to align editing standards and resolve any discrepancies. 6. Liaise with the RCO team to clarify content, incorporate feedback, and address any questions. 7. Ensure that the final version of the document is ready for approval by the UNRC. 8. Assist preparing presentations for the consultations on the UNCA tailored to various audiences.
