ABOUT THE JOB

He/she works in close cooperation with other field staff for planning of activities. The Economic Recovery assistant is expected to maintain close cooperation with the targeted local communities and to be able to mobilize these to take active part in planning of activities. Under the direct supervision of the Economic recovery team leader, the Economic Recovery assistant is overall responsible to ensure that the implementation of DRC Afghanistan’s Economic Recovery program in the assigned area of responsibility is guided in accordance with approved methodologies and SOPs and are in line with DRC and donor policies and guidelines. The Economic recovery assistant will be working in cooperation with DRC’s protection and emergency teams and in collaboration with local authorities and communities. In addition he/she will be tasked of reporting and when requested engaged in monitoring, evaluation and learning activities.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Economic Recovery team leader and based on technical advice and inputs of the Technical Program Specialist and Economic Recovery manager the Economic Recovery assistant is responsible for: -

  • Assist the EcRec Officer in administering beneficiary assessment and selection.
  • Supervise a daily basis Cash for Work activities in the sites
  • Ensure that cash for work tools and materials are properly distributed to the workers and stored at the end of the activities
  • Conduct/lead field assessment for cash for work participants
  • Ensure the target group for cash for work are registered, verified to comply with selection criteria and evaluation
  • Prepare daily reports according to agreed timelines on activities undertaken during the Cash for Work activities including challenges encountered and best practice methods
  • Assist the EcRec Officer about logistics, including preparing requisition forms, conducting quality checks, and conducting distributions.
  • Collect attendance sheets and process payments of monthly stipends, where relevant.
  • Assist the EcRec Officer in setup of vocational training, apprenticeships classes and any other training classes.

  • Any other duty assigned by the EcRec officer or Team Leader.

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Three years of experience
  • Beneficiary focused communication skill
  • Community mobilization
  • Reporting skills
  • Ability to work in the field.
  • Computer using skills specially Ms. Excel and Ms. Word
  • Good monitoring skills

Education/qualifications:

  • BSc

Languages:

  • Pashto
  • Dari
  • English (Fluent)
