ABOUT THE JOB

The economic recovery assistant is responsible to deliver high-quality specialized project activities related to community infrastructure projects and will be a part of the CFW project selection, beneficiary assessment, labor supervision, and qualitative implementation of the CFW project. Besides, he will be responsible to achieve overall MSE activities at the field level. Particularly beneficiary assessment, provide business development support to small businesses and women and men-led enterprises at the project level. And, he/she will be contributing to market assessment, and coordination internally (emergency, protection, HMA, MEAL, and Support services department) and externally (Community representatives with the consideration of DRC’s reputation in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Line Manager in liaising with community stakeholders about the implementation of cash-for-work infrastructures
  • Responsible for beneficiary assessment and verification with the consideration of SME and CFW criteria and SOPs.
  • Supervise daily basis CFW activities, labor, progress, attendance sheet, and support team on providing Labor wage distribution.
  • Ensure that cash for work tools and materials is properly distributed to the workers and stored at the end of the activities
  • Facilitate awareness sessions on safety and security procedures in the workplace (at the beginning of each cash-for-work round)
  • Conduct/lead field assessment for cash-for-work participants
  • Ensure the target group for cash for work is registered, and verified to comply with selection criteria and evaluation
  • Ensure regular coordination with all stakeholders at the community level
  • Responsible with the preparation of business development training manuals and materials
  • Provide timely business development training to selected small businesses owners and women/men-led businesses
  • Provide support to the EcRec team in preparation of viable business plan for beneficiaries
  • Responsible to conduct market assessments for beneficiaries
  • Review and recommend the business plan and support the line management for the approval of business grants in line with DRC and donor policies
  • Follow up with MSE beneficiaries through
  • Conduct regular follow-up, support coaching beneficiaries
  • Identifying their problems and providing support in the revision of business plans
  • Contribute to facilitating the market linkage/information with supported beneficiaries
  • Maintain the record for all the MSEs and update them accordingly
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by line manager

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s work experience in relevant construction work
  • Strong understanding of community context and having good knowledge of field works.
  • Have skills in managing construction projects
  • Have skills in labor supervision
  • Able to travel districts and fields.

Education/qualifications:

  • Minimum 12th graduated
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in public administration and social science and engineering

Languages:

  • Pashto (Advanced)
  • Dari (Fluent)
  • English (Basic)
