Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. Considering the worsening crisis on the territory of Ukraine, DRC is expanding its presence in Ukraine and is looking for Economic Recovery Assistant in Lviv.

Overall purpose of the role • Under supervision of Economic Recovery Team Leader contribute to the implementation of DRC emergency programmes (such as multipurpose cash assistance and cash for rent assistance) that will be realised throughout Ukraine (government controlled areas). • Provides administrative or technical support within sector area. • Assist the sector officer in ensuring quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of sector activities.

Geographic scope: Lviv oblast This role has an area focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the area. The role contributes to the development of area strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to base operations.

Main responsibilities Programming & Operations • Under the leadership of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, support to smooth implementation of project activities related to emergency interventions while following the budget and work plan; • Provide support to multipurpose cash and cash for rent grants disbursement process throughout Ukraine (government controlled areas); • Assist in information dissemination and outreach activities with the aim to ensure active participation of the potential vulnerable individuals and/or households in emergency response programmes; • Engage in the selection process of the potential beneficiaries to be assisted with multipurpose cash and cash for rent grants; • Implement grants disbursement process, including collection and processing of the required documents, and providing support to the beneficiaries during the issuance of the grant funds; • Provision support in monitoring of the individuals/households who received grant assistance; • Close collaboration with DRC Support Unit in relation to programme activities; • Back-up other Economic Recovery Assistants when necessary; • Maintain good working relations within DRC and other organizations in the area of responsibility; • Cooperate with UN agencies, INGO’s and national NGO’s as needed; • Liaise with regional and local authorities as necessary; • Understand, and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct; • Perform other tasks as requested by DRC management; • Support to preparation of different reports related to the programme activities.

Reports to: Economic Recovery Team Leader

Required experience and competencies

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the economic recovery/livelihoods/emergency sector. • Good understanding of emergency response interventions as well as economic recovery activities. • Experience in administrative tasks • Excellent IT skills: confident PC user, MS Office pack (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines • English skills (Intermediate). • Fluency in local language: Ukrainian, Russian

Required education Relevant university degree (e.g. political science, international development, or economics) or equivalent professional qualification.
