You have:

  • B.A or technical diploma or degree in early childhood education, social work, or other related degree
  • Good understanding of the ECD context, including child-centered approaches and inclusive-active learning methods, and willingness to continuously update skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working with children
  • Demonstrated understanding of child safeguarding policies
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic
  • Basic written and spoken English
  • Interpersonal qualities: team player, very flexible, able to handle pressure well, work well in a cross-cultural setting, positive role model and conflict-solving behaviors

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Quality Officer, the ECD facilitator will be working on the provision of recreational psychosocial support content to children aged 3-8 who were internally displaced during emergency situations. The facilitator will work closely with the school and shelter directors, local and community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to promote a safe and supportive environment for children in the areas of displacement. The ECD facilitator will also perform other associated duties as assigned by the line manager, thereby providing a safe, secure, stimulating environment in which each child achieves his or her full potential.

The ECD facilitator will be responsible for

- ensuring the high quality of the delivery of the recreational psychosocial support content. - keeping track of caregivers’ attendance. - ensuring that children feel comfortable, safe and respected. - monitoring and evaluating the children’s progress and welfare. - demonstrating and encouraging inclusive work practices. - ensuring all materials and equipment are accounted for every day. - supporting the distribution of the necessary materials. - supporting M&E team in data collection and data entry with relevant tools, as needed - when delays occur flag concerns/challenges. - preparing the timesheets of OVs. - attending meetings and trainings as directed by the ECD Technical unit.

Deliverables:

Deliverable 1: November 01, 2024

- Attend the “Be Ready Be Strong” training with the ECD technical unit - Deliver 7 activities to children aged 3-8 in 16 schools - Fill out all required M&E tools as directed by the M&E team - Prepare Ovs timesheets

Deliverable 2: November 29, 2024

- Deliver 7 activities to children aged 3-8 in 16 schools - Fill out all required M&E tools as directed by the M&E team - Prepare Ovs timesheets

Deliverable 3: December 30, 2024

- Deliver 7 activities to children aged 3-8 in 16 schools - Fill out all required M&E tools as directed by the M&E team - Prepare Ovs timesheets

Qualifications

- B.A or technical diploma or degree in early childhood education, social work, or other related degree; - Good understanding of the ECD context, including, child-centered approaches, and inclusive- active learning methods, and willingness to continuously update his/her skills. - Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. - Demonstrated understanding and experience working with children - Demonstrated understanding of child safeguarding policies - Interpersonal qualities: team player, very flexible, able to handle pressure well, work well in a cross-cultural setting, positive role model and conflict-solving behaviors. - Fluency in written and spoken Arabic. - Basic written and spoken English. - Commitment to and understanding of the International Rescue Committee’s standards, aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
