How can you make a difference?

The ECD Specialist reports to the Chief Education for guidance and general supervision, while also responding to overall guidance from the Deputy Representative, Programme with regards to coordination of cross-sectoral programming for ECD across all sections. The Specialist supports the coordinated development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ECD across all programmes within the Multi-Country Programme. The specialist provides technical guidance within UNICEF and government partners and management support to facilitate the realization of holistic ECD through a multi-sectoral approach.

The specialist contributes to the achievement of concrete and sustainable results on ECD according to plans, allocation, results management approaches and methodology (RBM) and UNICEF strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework.

2. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results on ECD programmes

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

• An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, public administration, public health, nutrition, economics, psychology, sociology, human development, child development, family studies or another relevant technical field.

Experience:

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in social development planning, policy, programming and management in early childhood development-related areas is required.
• Experience working in at least one developing country is required; experience in the Pacific and/or other SIDS is considered as an asset
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
