The Corporate Information Technologies Department (CIT) provides specialized support to IFC for key business applications. CIT is part of the World Bank Group's Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) organization, which provides IT and information management solutions and support to the WBG including all Country Offices

The CIT Operations unit (CITOP) seeks a highly motivated and versatile Quality Assurance specialist with strong technical and analytical skills to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of skilled, diverse, and technical professionals and contribute to IFC’s priorities. This position will report directly to the CITOP unit Manager. The position will be based in Washington DC.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Reviewing IT project plans and designing the appropriate testing methodology and strategy based on delivery methodology and other factors • Preparation of projects test plans and strategies. Ensuring that key testing activities and the associated schedules are captured in the broader project plans to support the delivery of high-quality products • Engage with business analysts, project managers and application support teams to clarify requirements and surface any risks or showstoppers in a timely fashion • Overseeing the execution of quality assurance activities by project testers as per agreed testing methodology • Assist project testers in preparation of functional test scenarios and test cases in Azure Test Plan on need basis • Assist project testers in preparation of automated test scripts using the CIT approved java-based selenium TestNG hybrid framework • Configuring and scheduling execution of the automated tests scripts in Azure DevOps (ADO) pipeline. • Maintain QA portions of CI/CD pipelines and ensure proper test coverage • Ensure that project QA test activities including the execution of functional, integration, end to end, regression and sanity tests are properly conducted as per established processes and standards. • Tracks defects all through to resolution. Making sure defect resolution timelines do not negatively impact the project schedule • Work closely with the Central QA team to ensure that all non-functional requirements are tested and exit criteria met. • Engaging with the Central QA team to ensure that CIT department wide QA standards are adhered in CITOP projects.

Selection Criteria

• Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.

Required Competencies

• QA Methodologies – Has experience of employing different QA approaches and strategies such as V Models, Shift Left etc based on the projects delivery methodology and landscape • Testing Tools and Techniques – Has experience of preparing automated test scripts for UI and API layers preferably using a java-based selenium TestNG hybrid framework. Ability to customize the framework to incorporate new requirements is an added advantage • Test Planning and Documentation - Has experience creating test strategies, indicating test approach, timelines, defect management, entry and exit criteria etc. Is proficient at creating clear and concise defect reports • Critical Thinking – Able to review requirements and identify requirements that are vague, untestable or should be broken down into smaller requirements. Able to challenge BAs and other stakeholders to provide clarity thus enabling the delivery of a quality product • Agile and DevOps – Has experience delivering QA services in an agile development environment. Experience with test execution using Azure pipeline is a huge plus • Learning Orientation - Stays abreast of new trends and developments in the QA space, the broader industry, and experiments with new approaches or emerging technological solutions in software testing. • Certifications – Any certifications on above listed competences will be a huge plus.
