Assist in the design and development of AV systems for clients

You have:

  • Master's degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field with 5 years relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of AV system design principles and components.
  • Proficiency in the installation and configuration of AV equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good knowledge of AV/VC technology including Cisco, Crestron, Taiden, Televic, Tandberg, and Polycom.
  • Good knowledge of video conferencing protocols such as H.323, SIP and audio/video standards.
  • Industry knowledge of simul/multi-cast video streaming and digital signage.
  • Experience with implementing business process improvement related to IT services.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and negotiating skills.
  • Experience in applying best practices in IT Service Management.
  • Strong drive for results, taking personal ownership and accountability.

Department and Unit Context:

The Digital Workplace (ITSDW) department within ITS provides global communications and client services, products, and support for all member organizations across the World Bank Group. Services provided by ITSDW include global network, unified communications (Telephony and Videoconferencing), end-user device and mobility service provisioning, IT support (helpdesk, front-line IT support and IT training), as well as coordination and implementation of all infrastructure projects facing World Bank Group country offices.

Objectives

•To assist in the design and development of AV systems that meet client specifications and requirements.

•To provide technical expertise in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV equipment.

•To support the maintenance and upgrading of existing AV systems to ensure optimal performance.

Role and Responsibilities:

Design and Development

•Collaborate with senior designers to create AV system designs based on client needs and project specifications.

•Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and equipment lists.

•Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical input.

Technical Expertise

•Install and configure AV equipment, including audio systems, video displays, projectors, and control systems.

•Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

•Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of AV equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Support and Training

•Provide technical support to clients and end-users, addressing their queries and concerns promptly.

•Assist in the training of clients and staff on the operation and maintenance of AV systems.

•Document technical procedures and create user manuals for AV systems.

Selection Criteria

•Master's degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field with 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Strong understanding of AV system design principles and components.

•Proficiency in the installation and configuration of AV equipment.

•Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

•Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.

•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

•Good knowledge of AV/VC technology, including Cisco, Crestron, Taiden, Televic, Tandberg, and Polycom…

•Good knowledge of video conferencing protocols such as H.323, SIP and audio /video standards and strong technical skills in signal flow, audio and video processing protocols.

•Industry knowledge of simul/multi-cast video streaming, digital signage, simultaneous interpretation for large enterprises and international institutions.

•Experience with implementing business process improvement taking the three main elements for successful change management: people, process, and technology.

•Excellent organization, planning, and negotiating skills.

•Solid communication skills through verbal and written documents.

•Experience in applying best practices in IT Service Management that span incident management, problem management, change management, knowledge management, asset management, project management, and policy and procedure management.

•Strong drive for results, taking personal ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and achieve agreed-upon results.
