ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

WBG Finance ITS Unit Context

WBG Finance (ITSFI) is responsible for providing high quality, streamlined information and technology solutions for the World Bank’s Financial services, which include Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Controls, Treasury, Loans, Accounting, and Concessional finance (managing donor contributions from inception to the point of final disbursement, including IDA, Financial Intermediary Funds and Trust Funds). ITSFI is additionally responsible for building its IT services using a shared platform that provides scale, leverage, reliability, and control while at the same time improving responsiveness to emerging business needs. This position is within WBG Risk Management and Analytics (ITSRA), the division of ITSFI responsible for IT services for all World Bank Group Risk Management functions across multiple vice presidencies in IBRD and IFC.

Job Opportunity

ITSRA is seeking an experienced, motivated, and ambitious product owner to manage and deliver various projects in Treasury and Risk domain. The candidate will be a senior member of a team that will work with vendor, internal business units, IT implementation vendors. This role will perform the following activities

1.Product Vision, Road Map, Product Goals

2.Product Requirements

3.Backlog Management

4.Sprint Planning

5.Communications with Key Stakeholder

6.Collaborating with cross-functional teams

7.Act as primary contact for all stakeholders

8.Manage the operations.

9.Demonstrating leadership and ownership of the product

Core responsibilities include:

•Defining and managing the product vision and strategy, based on business user and stakeholder needs

•Creating and prioritizing a product backlog (a list of features and requirements) that aligns with the product vision and goals, and continuously refining it based on feedback and changing business needs.

•Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. developers, designers, marketers, and quality assurance) that are in different geographical locations to ensure that the product meets business needs and is delivered on time and within budget.

•Ensuring that the product backlog items are clearly defined, well understood, and properly estimated by the development team.

•Making tough decisions on what features to include in each sprint or release, based on the value they will deliver to customers and the business.

•Acting as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders on matters related to the product.

•Continuously monitoring the product's performance and gathering feedback from end users and stakeholders, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions and prioritize future improvements.

•Ensuring that the product is compliant with all relevant controls and standards.

•Managing security, operational risk considerations related to the product.

•Demonstrating leadership and ownership of the product, and inspiring others to share and contribute to the product vision and goals.

Selection Criteria

•Master's degree in business administration, computer science, information systems or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Minimum 7 years of experience as a Senior Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst in a large enterprise-wide system implementation program

•English is the standard language used at the World Bank headquarters. All user, functional, technical and system documentation is written in English. Proficiency in English language is a must.

•Solid understanding of product management principles and practices. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban

•Driving transformational technology initiatives in Banking/ Fintech domains

•Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Strong expertise in working with Agile methodology or seasoned Agile practitioner.

•Oversee incident and release planning, scheduling, forecasting and execution of software development projects using different methodologies and in hybrid work environment.

•Strong and proven experience in documenting business requirements, use cases, functional and non-functional requirements, traceability matrix, etc. - Gathers information to expand working knowledge of the business or product supported to include key processes and operational aspects that impact successful execution of business functions.

Desired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus)

•Knowledge of Asset Management and Capital Markets.

•Prior experience working with Multilateral Development Banks (MDB’s) or Developmental Financial Institutions (DFI’s) will be a huge advantage

•Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) certification, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or experience leading team is preferred
