E T Consultant

Description

IFC—a member of the World Bank Group—is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities in developing countries. In fiscal year 2022, IFC committed a record $32.8 billion to private companies and financial institutions in developing countries, leveraging the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity as economies grapple with the impacts of global compounding crises. For more information, visit www.ifc.org.

The IFC has made supplier finance a priority because of its potential for broad development impact and its especially important role in poverty reduction. Global Trade Supplier Finance (GTSF) program, which is part of the IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) Department, helps emerging market suppliers to improve their competitiveness by providing them with affordable short-term trade financing in countries where private capital does not flow at a scale required to address major development gaps, while also incentivizing improved environmental and social performance of suppliers through sustainability linked pricing.

Scope of Work: GTSF is looking for an Extended Term Consultant, who will support origination, structuring and execution of new GTSF facilities, as well supervision of existing GTSF facilities. Extended Term Consultant’s responsibilities will include the following tasks:

• Work closely with other members of the GTSF team, regional MAS teams, country managers and officers to develop the GTSF pipeline, support processing of new GTSF facilities and portfolio supervision of existing buyers. • Review and analyze GTSF business opportunities, synthesize information into internal reports for decision making purposes. • Coordinate closely with social, environmental, and advisory colleagues to add value to our clients' businesses, find pragmatic solutions to the specific sector challenges, and achieve sustainable development impact. • Support ongoing processing and approvals of GTSF disbursements and repayments, as well as other GTSF back office operational work. • Contribute to dissemination of knowledge about GTSF within the broader MAS and IFC teams via knowledge pieces, presentations, case studies, etc. • Conduct industry, market, and company research. • Create detailed financial models and analyze the viability of new GTSF investments.
