The World Bank Group Finance and Accounting (WFA), the hiring vice-presidency, is responsible for the following:
• Overseeing the Bank’s accounting and related financial control functions, maintaining the Bank’s financial records, ensuring the overall integrity of the Bank’s financial transactions and satisfying the Bank’s internal and external reporting requirements • Supporting an appropriate fiduciary control framework and administering disbursements for Bank lending • Providing professional technical services to clients in financial management and accounting
WFA provides reliable, transparent, and up-to-date data to facilitate business decision making by senior management and the Board of Directors. The Vice President and Controller reports through the Chief Financial Officer to the President and represents senior management’s viewpoint to the Audit Committee on matters of financial integrity, reporting, monitoring, and internal control.
A.2 Financial Data to support WBG mission / Data Program / Income Attribution The World Bank Income Attribution Project is intended to develop design and support a web-based application that will serve as a main source of financial performance data used for portfolio analyses across the Bank. Enhance management reporting with timely transparency on the drivers of revenue and expenses at various levels (institution, regions, and country).
B. Scope of Work B.1 Objective
WFACR is looking to hire an ETC to support in the development and implementation of data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. The consultant will report to the Team Lead of the Income Attribution Project in the WFACR division in WFA.
B.2 Key tasks and responsibilities • Navigate multiple financial and operational World Bank databases to provide consistent, efficient, and accurate data analytics and visualizations. • Support the automation process of the Income Attribution dashboard. • Test the outputs provided by the technical teams and ensure accuracy in the Income Attribution dashboard. • Assist in maintaining the Income Attribution dashboard, databases, and reports. • Develop, validate, and maintain a series of financial data models while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and relevance of information. • Provide analytical support to evaluate financial performance and portfolio evolution by comparing and analyzing financial results. • Support the Income Attribution team in the preparation of detailed tables, presentations, and action plans on the project for senior management.
