Overview

Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods safely.

You have:

  • Valid driving license.
  • Proven experience working as a driver, preferably in humanitarian, recovery or emergency contexts.
  • Experience operating in complex and volatile environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle responsibility for people and assets.
  • Basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word, internet applications).
  • Knowledge of the local context and road conditions in northern Ukraine.
  • Humanitarian-related trainings or certificates are an advantage.
  • Experience driving outside of Ukraine and the legal right to cross borders is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing security and operational conditions.

The Driver is responsible for transporting NRC staff, visitors, documents and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved within an area, country or other location.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Generic Responsibilities

  • Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers, goods, and the vehicle at all times
  • Respect local traffic laws and NRC vehicle and logistical policies
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and trip documentation
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept in good operating condition, including cleanliness, fuel level and technical checks
  • Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, damages, or maintenance needs
  • Liaise with the line manager regarding vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections
  • Ensure the vehicle carries all required documents and safety equipment
  • Provide logistical support during trainings, workshops, and field missions
  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidance and procedures

Specific Responsibilities

  • Drive NRC vehicles for delivery and collection of mail, documents, parcels, equipment and other materials as requested by the line manager
  • Support programme teams with loading, unloading and transportation of humanitarian assistance during field missions
  • Provide basic clerical and administrative support to operational and programme activities when required
  • Accept flexible working hours based on operational needs; overtime is compensated according to NRC regulations
  • Support movement planning and coordination in collaboration with logistics colleagues
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the line manager
