Overview

  • UNDSS B6 course (passed).

About the job

The overall aim of the B6 Driver post will be under the direct supervision of the HoS and supported by the Safety Assistant in Mogadishu the driver will, responsible for the day to day maintenance of the B6 vehicle, to support in the day to day planning and operational driving of the B6 vehicle for staff pick-ups, drop offs and movement to other approved locations as and when needed.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • In-charge of DRC owned vehicles (B6 Armored), it fueling, maintenance and overall management
  • Through coordination of Safety team to drive the DRC Armored vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel only within the designated destinations.
  • Facilitate local transport of all staff movement in the Mogadishu are of operations.
  • Responsible for recording, protecting and update of DRC vehicle documents. (i.e - ownership documents, legalities documents and overall vehicles documentations) and ensure this file is updated on bi-monthly/Quarterly bases.
  • Ensuring that all passengers wear their seat belts at all times in the vehicle.
  • Emphasize no smoking policy all the times in the vehicle;
  • Movement arrangement for staff with the B6 armored vehicles
  • Ensuring that all vehicles comply with the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) and report in case some of them are non-complying;
  • Strictly following all rules and regulations in relation to the use and management of DRC Vehicle policy.
  • Ensure that a file is kept for all DRC vehicle log sheets and must keep it updated on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents through coordination with HoS and AS in Mogadishu.
  • Maintain all vehicle equipment’s
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.

Vehicle Management:

  • Responsible full adherence of DRC Fleet management policy and procedures at all times
  • Ensure DRC fleet management procedures are 100% followed and all required reporting forms, such as fuel monitoring, vehicle repair and maintenance, maintenance check list, vehicle in use forms are properly used on daily basis
  • Ensure weekly and monthly fuel consumption report (such as fleet and fuel management reports, and repair issues) are prepared and submitted to the Logistics Officer
  • Carry out periodic vehicle quality inspection for all DRC/DDG vehicles as well as rented vehicles

  • Ensure that both DRC owned vehicles and rented vehicles have safety kits such as first aid kit and fire extinguisher and etc.

  • Serve as the liaison on national staff insurance issues.
  • Ensure exit procedures are made for all staff in coordination with other required departments.

Reporting to: Head of Safety and Humanitarian Access.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for

employees on national contract.
