You have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver training with a valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience with UN and Humanitarian/Development NGOs as a driver; safe driving record, and knowledge of driving regulations, rules and laws.
  • Skills in vehicle maintenance, training/certificate on defensive driving, and computer literacy is an advantage.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Fluency in the national language of the duty station is required.
  • Fluency in the local language of the duty station is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Deputy Country Representative-OHCHR-EARO and direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer (PMO, P3), the incumbent will provide safe driving services to the OHCHR-EARO staff field office teams and other relevant stakeholders, and high-profile visitors as required with the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and responsibility, the scope of the work of the consultant will be the following. • Transport UNOHCHR and other UN visitors or officials applying appropriate protocols • Deliver and collect mail and documents and perform other messenger responsibilities. • Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport and assist with visa and customs formality arrangement when required. • Make timely minor repairs and/or arrange for major repairs • Ensure timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc. • Maintain accurate daily vehicle logs, Insurance renewal, annual vehicle annual inspection, plate process to the newly procured, plate return for the disposed vehicles and collection of Performa cost as required. • Provide inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports. • Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. • Logs, official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.

Qualifications/special skills

High school diploma or equivalent. Driver training with a valid driver's license. • Minimum of 3 years (with high school diploma) of relevant work experience as a driver with a safe driving record and a valid 3rd grade driving license is required. • Minimum 2 years work experience with UN and Humanitarian/Development NGOs as a driver; safe driving record, and knowledge of driving regulations, rules and laws as well as skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance is an advantage. • Skills in vehicle maintenance, training/certificate on defensive driving, and computer literacy is an advantage.
