You have:
- Secondary Education, valid Driver's license
- At least 2-3 years of work experience as a driver, preferably with International Organizations/Embassies; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair
- Working knowledge of English and working knowledge of Armenian
- National of Armenia
Organizational Setting
A project funded by the Green Climate Fund “Forest resilience in Armenia enhancing the adaptation and rural green growth via mitigation” has been approved and started in December 2021. The FAO representation office in Armenia (FAO Armenia) and the Environmental Project Implementation Unit (EPIU) are the Executing Entities of the project. FAO will be responsible for the overall implementation of the project and also supervise the work of the EPIU of the Ministry of Environment of Armenia. The project is co-financed by the Government of Armenia, Austrian Development Agency (ADA), Autonomous Province of Bolzano, WWF Armenia and FAO.
The position is based in Yerevan, with local travel to the project sites in Lori and Syunik Marzes and possibly other relevant areas.
Reporting Lines
The Driver reports to the National Project Coordinator and will work in close collaboration with Project Team.
Technical Focus
Under the general guidance of FAO Representative and the direct supervision of the National Project Coordinator, the Driver is responsible for driving the staff and missions of FAO Representation and GCP/ARM/008/GCF project and perform logistical other related duties as required.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving the project vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of project mail, documents and other items; • Ensure that the project vehicle is at all times in a sound mechanical condition, roadworthy and in a presentable state outwardly and inwardly as well as MOSS compliant; • Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the project vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangement for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.; • Ensure that the project vehicle is used solely and exclusively for official purposes. In this respect, keep a specific log book on board and record pertinent data regularly; • Coordinate the vehicle logistic needs and ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs and provision of inputs for the preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports; • Keep track of fuel consumption and verify it with the logbooks; • Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts; • Ensure that all immediate actions required by FAO rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents; • Maintain an accurate filing system and vehicle history files; • Ensure that maintenance and repairs of vehicle are carried out in an effective and cost-efficient manner; • Whenever not in use, park the vehicle within the designated secure parking; • Upon request, assist in the procurement of vehicle spare parts: collect quotations, analyse prices of office items, prepare payment requests for local procurement of vehicle supplies; • Distribute project correspondence/materials to appropriate persons/organizations as requested by the project staff; • Provide logistical support to the Project staff in the organization and preparation of all workshops/trainings, meetings and other project events; • Support the Project staff in preparation of Travel Authorizations and requesting security clearances from UNDSS; • Assist the project staff in provision of office supplies and other necessary inputs; • Perform other related duties, as required.
