Organizational Setting
FAO Partnership and Liaison Office in Azerbaijan
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of Deputy Head of Partnership and Liaison Office, operational supervision of Administrative Specialist.
Technical Focus
Ensure provision of reliable and safe driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of high-ranking officials and visitors and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of high-ranking officials and visitors and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required; • Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports; • Ensures day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc. so that the vehicle is kept clean • Maintains daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routs) and submitting logs to the supervisor on a timely • basis; • Ensures that all instructions regulating safe driving behavior and Rules of the Road are in hand and strictly followed; • Ensures that the vehicle has valid insurance and first aid kit; • Drives the project's vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative • tasks as required under the project; • Handles local and organizational formalities when involved in an accident; ensures that in this case all organizational and local/country rules, regulations and procedures are followed correctly; • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident; • Performs other duties as required.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• Secondary degree diploma; Valid driver’s license; • Good knowledge of the local driving rules and regulations; skills in minor vehicle repair; • Minimum 2 years work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record; • National of Azerbaijan or a legal resident in the country; • Limited knowledge (level B) of English (Russian language will be an asset).
