Duties and Responsibilities Background Description In Liberia, the UN Resident Coordinator office comprises of the Political, Peace and Development Unit, the Core Resident Coordination Unit, LMPT and the Spotlight Initiative Programmes. The Core Coordination Unit handles the daily Coordination for Results, Programmatic work, Operations, Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Strategic Communications and Advocacy. The Core Coordination Unit supports UN Country Team through planning, policy, analysis and reporting. It also supports various working groups including: Inter-Agencies Programme Team (IAPT), Operations Management Team (OMT), Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Working Group, UN Communications Group (UNCG), Gender Thematic Group (GTG), Human Rights (HR) Working Group, Inter-Agency Youth Taskforce (IAYT), UN Disaster Management Working Group and UN Data Working Group. Under the overall supervision of the UN RCO Team Leader, the qualified individual contractor will: - The driver will provide chauffeur services to UNCT, UNRCO, and mission guests. Engaged in a daily routine and operational support, the candidate will be domiciled in the UNRCO for the period of the contract; - He/She is expected to ensure that all vehicles and equipment in the UNCT Fleet are maintained and repaired in proper electro/mechanical and safety standards; - Responsible for preparing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for the vehicle; - Maintain inventory control over parts, equipment and supplies; and assist in risk management activities; - Maintain maintenance and repairs logs and records; and oversee the repair of vehicles and breakdowns for monitoring the history, in established maintenance logs. - Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by driving the office vehicles for the transport of UNCT officials and visitors; - Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required; - The driver provides occasional driving services support to the UNCT CO operations and program. - Keeps abreast of traffic and road and security and safety awareness to enable safe and on time arrival for meetings; - Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports; - Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc so that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times; - Ensures proper use of vehicle maintenance plans and assistance in preparing vehicle history report; - Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle; - Keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities; - Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;

Qualifications/special skills A high school diploma is required Two years of work experience in chauffeur services to UNCT, UNRCO, and mission guests is required Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by driving the office vehicles for the transport of UNCT officials and visitors Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc so that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times is required

Languages Fluency in oral and written English is required.
