Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.

The United Nations Global Support Center (UNGSC) is seeking to hire an individual contractor to perform a wide range of safe and reliable, ground transportation and support services for the Central Maintenance and Repair Unit (CMRU)

These positions are located in the United Nations Global Service Centre, Brindisi, Italy within the Central Maintenance and Repair Unit (CMRU) of the Supply Chain Service.

The Drivers will work under the supervision of the Chief, Central Maintenance and Repair Unit (CMRU).

The individual contractor will perform the following duties: - Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and for the transport of general cargo goods and or specialized hazardous good vehicles. - Makes regular deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between the offices within UNGSC. - Collects and delivers goods from the Central Warehouse with due regard to regulations and formalities. - Transports UN staff within UNGSC premises and/or outside (i.e. from/to airport and similar facilities). - Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that the assigned vehicles are kept clean and in good running condition at all times. - Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. - Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident. - Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given. - Adheres to UNGSC Safety and Health rules and regulations when performing each assigned task. - Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills High School diploma or equivalent is required. At least three (3) years of experience as a driver is required. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles, is required. Valid driving license type B and C is required.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
