OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Administrative Services Unit is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to all regional staff in the areas of travel and meeting management, registry and logistic services, staff security and safety, building and grounds maintenance, and other related services.

The Travel and Transport Team is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective provision of operational and administrative services related to travel, including but not limited to ticketing, visa application, ground transportation to/from the airports and meetings within commuting distance and lodging arrangements for visitors and meeting participants.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant (Travel and Transport) and guidance of the Administrative Services Officer, the incumbent performs the following functions:

  1. Drives the official vehicles of the Organization;
  2. Transports/meets head of office, high ranking officials and other official personnel;
  3. Collects and delivers mails and documents when required;
  4. Responsible for keeping his driving license valid and for conforming to the traffic code for meeting all requirements of driving regulations and safety requirements; takes appropriate precautions for the security of the vehicle and its contents when left unattended;
  5. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicles, carries out regular check of oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, any malfunctioning, etc., and performs minor repair and arranges for other repairs;
  6. Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc of the vehicles assigned to him;
  7. Ensures that necessary steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case he or his vehicle is involved in an accident;
  8. Provides back up to other team members during their absences; and
  9. Performs other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Equivalent to graduation from secondary school with thorough training in driving of automobile/minibus. Desirable: Additional education as an asset.

Experience

Essential: Two years of experience as a driver with safe driving record. Desirable: Experience working in a UN Organization an asset.

Skills

-Possess valid driver's license to drive automobile/minibus.

-Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of driving and traffic rules and regulations.

-Excellent knowledge of the layout and streets of duty stations and environments.

-Skills in motor vehicle mechanics.

-Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team.

-Adapt to diverse educational and cultural background and maintain a high standard of personal conduct.

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at PHP 450,043 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
