Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Driver in Mykolaiv.

About the job: Overall purpose of the role is to support and carry out passenger transportation within Ukraine, planning and management of transport and logistics activities in support of humanitarian assistance operations in Kyiv, with business trips around Ukraine. The driver is responsible for driving, managing and administering the vehicle to provide safe and efficient transport for operations teams and field offices.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: • Carry out the daily vehicle driving duty and inspection of the vehicle in accordance with the Supply Chain Manual. • Ensure that each vehicle is carrying a Vehicle Log Book, First Aid Kit and Fire Extinguisher. • Ensure that the vehicles are cleaned both inside and out whenever needed. • Report any accident or damage or defects to the vehicle to the SC Officer and Security Specialist and appropriately complete the Accident Report, passing it to the Supply Chain Officer for action. • Check and ensure Vehicle Log Books are correctly completed. • Ensure that the Log Books are handed to the SC Officer on the first day of each month. • Make sure that all vehicles are parked correctly during the day and at night at the office parking. • Check own vehicle after it has returned from repair to ensure that the work it went in for has been completed. • Understand and obey all traffic laws and regulations of Ukraine and DRC in country. • At all times be in possession of a valid driving license and make sure that the license is renewed when necessary. • Communicate with Supply Chain Officers and Security Officers. • Monitor fuel states and organize refueling. • Send the completed Logbook to the Supply Chain Officer at the end of each day. • Compliance with working hours as regulated. • Drivers are required to work in accordance with the operational needs of the operation.

About you To be successful in this role we expect you to have 5 years of driving experience or more. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Education: secondary education or higher. Languages: English level- A1 or higher, fluency in Ukrainian language. Computer literacy: basic skills in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

We offer

  • Contract length: 3-month probation period, with the possibility of extension subject to funding and satisfactory performance.
  • Band: J – non-management.
  • Designation of Duty Station: Mykolaiv
  • Start date: As soon as possible.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for employees on national contracts.
