Who are we?

The position will be part of the Policy, Process and Quality team under the Financial Reporting and Compliance Unit in the FRISC Department. This will be a newly created team, of existing and new staff, that supports the development and continuous improvement of finance policies and processes while also providing donor audit and contract advisory services. The team will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting and Compliance Unit which additionally supports the strategic initiatives related to DRC’s financial reporting and budgeting processes. This combined work ensures that the financial management of the organisation and external stakeholder commitments can be met.

About the job

DRC has a diverse grants portfolio including many of the major institutional donors from around the world. The Donor Audit and Contract Advisor position is essential to the management of these grants and providing advice to operations on how to meet contractual obligations. The position will also coordinate donor audits facilitated in HQ and be a part of the quality assurance processes. More specifically the position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support and guide project implementation responsible staff in handling donor financial rules and regulations and contract requirements
  • Have a particular focus on US and UK institutional donors and UN agencies
  • Support in the development of guidelines on finance related donor/contract requirements
  • Responsible for coordinating the audit process for HQ based donor audits and framework/global grant audits
  • Liaise with external auditors regarding donor audit matters
  • Participate in quality assurance tasks of DRC internal policies to ensure alliance with donor requirements
  • Support the finalisation and closure of projects in DRC’s ERP system
  • Assist in year-end closure preparation
  • Support the development of finance policies and processes, depending on needs and qualifications
  • Ad hoc tasks and other cross cutting financial tasks

About you

You are not afraid to admit that you have a focus on details and like to follow rules. You have the ability to translate contractual terms into everyday language and communicate this to a wide audience, while ensuring their understanding. Excellent coordination skills combined with a drive to accomplish tasks within deadlines will be a couple of the key skills you will need to bring to the position. Finally, a sense of humour and good interpersonal skills will be the final element that will enable to you to be successful in this position.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Experience in interpreting institutional donor contracts, and translating them into practical action
  • Knowledge of international institutional donor requirements
  • Experience in the quality controlling of institutional donor financial reports
  • Have attention to detail
  • Experience in using Microsoft office, especially Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Word
  • Good communication skills
  • Relationship building and networking skills
  • University degree or equivalent within a relevant area (finance, business management, accounting, project management)

Desirable

  • Experience in the coordination of donor audits, highly desirable
  • Experience with using ERP systems and ability to understand their architecture. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a big advantage
  • French language skills (Intermediate and above)

This position is permanent.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (fuldmægtig-level). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
