You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Behavioral Sciences, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in community organizing and development, with strong exposure to DRRM
  • Training in Community Development/Organizing, Project/Program Management, Participatory Approaches, Gender & Cultural Sensitivity, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
  • Proven experience in Preparedness, response, recovery, and risk reduction programming
  • Strong ability to manage complex workloads and tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in the development or humanitarian sector is highly desirable
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork
  • Must be a Filipino national based in the Philippines

Plan International Pilipinas, a leading child rights development and humanitarian organization, is looking for a passionate and experienced Disaster Preparedness Specialist to join our team.

The ACCESS Project focuses on enhancing disaster preparedness and humanitarian response in high-risk communities. This role is instrumental in ensuring effective, inclusive, and sustainable project implementation.

About the Role

As the Disaster Preparedness Specialist, you will provide technical and strategic support to the project team and consortium partners. You will help ensure quality delivery of disaster preparedness and response interventions while working closely with the Consortium Lead, Program Quality and Effectiveness Team (PQET), and Business Development Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Needs Assessment
    • Lead organizational assessments in target municipalities to identify DRRM training needs
  • Technical Support
    • Design and guide participatory, inclusive, and gender-responsive DRR strategies and tools
  • Digital Innovation
    • Support pilot testing of digital Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA) in Maguindanao del Sur
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Facilitate consultations, partnerships, and coordination meetings with key stakeholders
  • Monitoring & Quality Assurance
    • Track project progress and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Emergency Response
    • Support emergency preparedness and response operations when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Behavioral Sciences, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in community organizing and development, with strong exposure to DRRM

  • Must be a Filipino national based in the Philippines
