  • Knowledge of disability inclusion is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages would be necessary.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Other languages would be an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

The objective of this Internship is to support the implementation and operationalisation of UNRWA’s Disability Inclusion Policy based on the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS) at HQ level as well as in the five field offices. The Senior Disability Advisor is part of the Protection Division at UNRWA’s Headquarter and responsible for the implementation and operationalisation of disability mainstreaming across the Agency. The Intern for Disability Inclusion is expected to support the facilitation and roll-out of the disability inclusion policy, more concretely: 1. Coordinate the disability inclusion focal point network, 2. Support the implementation of the UNWRA Disability Inclusion Policy, 3. Support and coordinate the development and finalization of the Disability Inclusion Guideline, 4. Assist and support research and analysis of documents, guidelines, and reports, 5. Liaise with the different field offices, more precisely with Disability Inclusion Focal Points at RSS, Education, and other programmes. Qualifications/special skills

Education: Applicants to the UNRWA internship must at the time of application meet one of the following academic requirements: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) of social science, public health, rehabilitation or similar. b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); c) Graduated from an above-mentioned programme no longer than 1 year Previous work experience would be an advantage but is not a requirement. Knowledge of disability inclusion is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages would be necessary.
