Work Location UN premises (Cambodia Country Office)

Duties and Responsibilities The consultancy will be responsible for the following duties in support of OHCHR Cambodia Country Office:

a. Coordinate the UNPRPD-funded project in close cooperation with UNDP, ILO and UNESCO; b. Liaise with relevant authorities including within the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY), the Ministry of Justice, the Bar Association of Kingdom of Cambodia, and DAC, as well as with relevant non-governmental organisations working on persons with disability to plan and implement the project activities; c. Provide expertise/technical input in the ongoing CRPD treaty-reporting cycle and the draft law on the rights of persons with disabilities; d. Monitor the implementation of the grants to Legal Aid of Cambodia and Transcultural Psychosocial Organization, including if necessary conducting field visits; e. Organize 4 x 1-day training sessions for justice actors on CRPD, applicable legislation and policies on persons with disabilities; f. Support the OHCHR Public Information Officer (PIO) in developing communication contents and campaign on the project, including drafting web stories and texts to be posted on social media; g. Advise with PIO ondeveloping a public campaign on the rights of persons with disabilities; h. Draft monthly updates and a final mission report; i. Attend relevant meetings, training sessions or workshops, as necessary, and j. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced degree in Law, Social Sciences or other related fields At least 7 years of professional experience in law, human rights, social sciences or related field.

3 years’ experience working with persons with disabilities, organizations of persons with disabilities and/or on the rights of persons with disabilities

3 years’ experience in providing training courses to a variety of beneficiaries or to a diverse audience

Knowledge of international human rights standards, including of persons with disabilities.

3 years’ experience in carrying out legal analysis in conformity with international human rights standards.

Languages Good knowledge of English
