The Director of Global Benefits is responsible for the development of the employee benefit philosophy and strategy and effective execution of the benefit programs, including health, paid time off policies, retirement, and wellness programs. This includes full oversight of plan design and pricing strategies, communication, administration and compliance. The successful candidate will define global minimum standards for respective benefit plans and drive practices and plans across all regions and countries with regional P&C colleagues. In addition, the Director Global Benefits will identify opportunities to leverage benefit vendor partner relationships.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide expertise, advice, and direction on all global benefit plans including but not limited to plan design, development, automation, implementation, and administration. Establish plan design and administrative processes that result in competitive and cost-effective benefits for the IRC and IRC employees.

2. Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of IRC’s country benefits programs on a global basis. Identify and partner with global benefit consultants to ensure IRC is competitive and compliant with benefit plans in each country.

3. Support diversity, equality, and inclusion goals by setting global minimum standards for benefit plans and policies that ensure IRC meets duty of care standards are met and valuable benefits are offered to all IRC employees globally.

4. Responsible for the communication strategy of key benefit programs, to ensure employees are aware of and understand the benefits offered as measured in the employee satisfaction surveys.

5. Utilize data analytics to understand benefit utilization and spend patterns to inform cost effective design decisions.

6. Identify and solve challenging benefits issues including the establishment of improved or new benefit offerings in established and new countries.

7. Select and oversee benefit vendors, including serving as a key decision-maker around scope of vendor services. Engage in external benefits organizations to keep up with current market trends for areas of improvement.

8. Consult and provide benchmarking data, national market trends and local best practices to colleagues globally to establish or enhance local benefit plans to align with IRC’s global benefits philosophy. Select, develop processes and manage global benefit plan data warehouse to store IRC and benchmarking data for all countries globally.

9. Ability to build partnerships and collaborate with key partners across finance, HR operations, Regional HR Directors, legal and technology to ensure that benefits programs are cost efficient, legally compliant, and effectively delivered.

10. Manage the fringe benefits budget and monitor overall benefits costs and ensure competitive pricing for all benefits program components. Participates in the periodic solicitation of input from benefits vendors/providers and provides guidance to HR leadership regarding vendor/provider selection.

4. HQ leadership for multiple departments

5. Finance, General Counsel and IT

6. External benefits vendors and brokers

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university

• 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, including 5+ years of management experience and a minimum of 7+ years of benefits experience (corporate and/or consulting)

• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), preferred.

• Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, HRIS software and related reporting tools (Workday and ADP preferred).

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

• Ability to work independently, Excellent judgment.

• Proactive mindset; Attention to detail and understanding of quality review process.

• Experience with business process design/continuous improvement

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

For UK based candidates, the approved salary range is 70,000 - 85,000 GBP gross per annum.

US Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
