This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under direct supervision of the Deputy Country Director (Operations) and in coordination with the Head of IT, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assess and measure end-user adoption levels of the digital skills, identify training needs for increased awareness, or end-user skills training through e.g. daily liaison with users, end-user surveys.
  • Engage with respective units to coordinate a task force in the office to ensure digital transformation
  • Help taskforce to formulate training plans for end users, digital champions, and others
  • Organize the delivery digital tools trainings, including to new staff, new users, new SharePoint champions trainings
  • Facilitate workshop with CO units to define their SharePoint organization and ensure migration of the relevant documents on SharePoint.
  • Conduct SharePoint research, in collaboration with CO ICT, and UNDP ICT peers e.g. in HQ, to understand potential solutions, and formulate SharePoint technical solutions. In collaboration with ICT team, formulate proposals for technical upgrades, new functionality, features, automations.
  • Upon endorsement of DCD-O, develop in collaboration with CO ICT follow ups documentation for implementation planning including project planning, ToRs etc.
  • Be in charge of responsible for implementation of technical changes to the SharePoint, in close collaboration with CO ICT, including technical documentation, testing, and release planning to ensure well prepared introduction of new features/ functions to end users.
  • Report on implementation and adoption progress of digital tools, by documenting (trends) in issues, tracking these changes and developing and maintaining a risk log.
  • Document good digital practices, including produce / share relevant documentation with other CO's and UNDP colleagues.
  • Facilitate process review workshop in the different unit and identify opportunity for simplification, digitization and automatization.
  • Identify opportunity and gaps to develop innovation methodology trainings (human-centered design, agile methodology, etc.)
  • Develop communication tools around digital transformation and digital culture
  • Identify opportunity to organize digital trainings with UNDP partners
  • Support the CO to better conduct / carry out daily work processes within the SP environment. For this the Specialist will need to keep his/herself abreast with knowledge on the latest developments, innovation trends in office productivity, including of all matters Microsoft SharePoint online and other Office365 solutions, as well as other tools e.g. Slack, Trello, Yammer for online social, knowledge networking, and collaboration.

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Master’s Degree or professional certification in ICT , Business or Public Administration would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.

Required experience:

60 Months

Experience remark:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in business process analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering and analysis; and/ or in IT advisory / consulting in international working environment;

Good understanding of information management fundamentals (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn) incl. document, records management, retention, taxonomy, e-discovery, enterprise content management;

Previous experience in international organizations, preferably with UNDP, is highly desirable.
