  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English, proficiency in French would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of programming languages and web technologies such as .NET, React, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
  • Understanding of database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated interest in IT, software development, automation, or business systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.

JOB PURPOSE: To support the team in improving productivity through business process automation, assist with the development, testing, maintenance and implementation of IT solutions, and help provide user support and training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

  • Support the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems in line with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist with system releases and early support activities to help users adopt new IT solutions.
  • Help keep technical documentation up to date to support system maintenance.
  • Research and suggest ideas for improving business processes and office automation.
  • Assist in writing and maintaining program code for IT solutions and automation projects.
  • Support unit and integration testing of new or updated code to ensure it meets requirements.
  • Respond to user queries with guidance from the team and escalate issues when needed.
  • Help prepare clear technical documentation in coordination with business and IT colleagues.
  • Contribute to system maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement activities as part of the team.

Responsibilities & knowledge required for the job.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and web technologies such as .NET, React, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
  • Understanding of database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity in BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is desirable.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES:

  • No prior professional experience is required; relevant coursework, academic projects, internships, or personal projects will be considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interest in IT, software development, automation, or business systems.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps or Microsoft certifications is a plus.

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Current enrolment in, or recent completion of, a university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or another relevant field.

Language:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English, Proficiency in French would be an advantage.
