This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

The assigned UN Volunteer will support UNICEF’s project to grow on a digital transformation journey to increase revenues and make an impact on children’s lives around the world. He/she will be supporting the Digital Strategy implementation Specialist and the Resource Mobilization and Communications Teams in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Office, based in Amman, Jordan. He/she will be working with highly committed and performance-driven teams responsible for overseeing the start-up of an Individual Giving (IG) fundraising program that is exploring creative and innovative strategies to engage and cultivate relationships with individual donors in MENA, particularly Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, contributing to the diversification of sustainable and quality income streams for UNICEF. The role will be guided and supported by senior colleagues in the digital team in PFP or a digital agency.

Under the direct supervision of MENARO or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Digital Revenue Strategy Implementation Officer will: • Assist in the development and management of a tracker that shows project delivery against scope that is updated to reflect status of tasks, resourcing, responsibilities, and milestones. • Support the setup of analytics and monitoring and landing page creation and optimization • Implement digital fundraising activities, such as email programs, SEO/SEM, social media etc. within the overall IG activities, either directly or via agencies and/or other support • Monitor, evaluate and share results on an ongoing basis • Constantly drive improvement in the paid digital and social advertising usage, budget recommendations, revenues and ROI in markets. • Support and develop advertising campaign planning, implementation, optimization, and performance review to meet the objectives and SLAs for emergency response. Aim for constant improvement of paid advertising support in the response to emergencies. • Suggest best practices from social platforms and main markets are identified, documented, shared and effectively used and supported in other markets. • Drive the improvements of ROI on advertising budgets in support of the Digital Revenue strategy and targets. • Any other related tasks may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Project management including experience in technical expertise in digital marketing in one or more main digital channels is required. · International fundraising experience is an asset. · Experience in digital media campaigns, of which specifically for paid social campaigns for direct response, either on advertiser or agency side. · Direct experience in social networks, sales and advertising. · Experience in digital fundraising and/or digital sales or B2C service subscriptions with demonstrable record in getting strong results in acquisition, digital conversion and retention through paid social campaigns. · Expertise and knowledge in specific areas relevant to digital fundraising and/or marketing: paid media, social media, digital customer journeys (UX and CRO aspects), marketing technology for paid social and display advertising (1st and 3rd party data integrations, campaign management platforms, ad serving and tracking) and optimizing digital revenue strategies, is an asset. · Understanding and experience of Google Analytics products, and Salesforce products is an advantage. · Knowledge of the UN system is an advantage. · Expertise in project management software tools (Microsoft), methodologies (Agile, Kanban), and best practices is required. · Proven ability to solve problems creatively. · Excellent analytical skills · Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful. · Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.

Amman, the capital, is a peaceful city with over four million residents. People are friendly to visitors. Services in terms of banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. Though Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken among the majority of the population, especially in Amman. Road network is good both in terms of spread and quality of the roads. Public transportation in Amman is limited. Taxis are relatively cheap and easily available. There are a number of shopping malls, restaurants, gyms, and cinemas. A large variety of accommodation options can be found; however, it is worth noting that prices in Amman have generally increased in the past few years. There are no specific security threats. Amman is a very easy city in which to live; large, many amenities, very modern and serviced by an international airport with direct flights to most capital cities. According to the assessment of the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) Jordan is a family duty station (category A hardship).

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the insurance plan.
