  • Accreditation or certification from a recognized interpretation/translation institution is highly desirable.

In 2025, the United Nations marks 80 years of global service, commemorated annually on 24 October as UN Day. This milestone offers a moment to reflect on the UN’s achievements, challenges, and continued relevance in addressing global and national priorities. It follows the 2024 Summit of the Future, where Member States endorsed the Pact for the Future, the Declaration on Future Generations, and the Global Digital Compact which reaffirms multilateralism as key to tackling climate change, conflict, pandemics, and technological disruption. In Malawi, the UN@80 anniversary aligns with the launch of the UNSDCF 2024–2028, supporting Malawi 2063 and the SDGs amid both progress and persistent development challenges. Two major events will mark this occasion: the Strategic Dialogue on Malawi–UN Partnership on 20 November and the SDG Youth Festival on 27 November 2025 in Lilongwe.

The specific tasks include:

UNRCO is seeking the support of 2 (2) Online Volunteers - with expertise in graphic design/art to support UNRCO in the upcoming UN Day commemorative events.

The Online Volunteers are expected to work with UNRCO Malawi by carrying out the following tasks: - Both volunteers will work on translating the content from English into Tumbuka - Carries out social media strategy and execution plans for Tumbuka -speaking audiences - Volunteers will collaborate to ensure the translation is not only accurate but also reflects the appropriate tone, clarity, and cultural relevance. This includes discussing and agreeing on the most suitable phrasing and terminology. - The version following a joint effort will be submitted for final review by UNRCO. - Specifically, it is required that each volunteer will review and translate all the infographics as presented by the graphic design team: - The infographic posters and/or videos necessary for the promotion and awareness of the event - The infographic posters and/or videos necessary with post-event information

At the end of the assignment, a certificate of appreciation will be issued from UNV. Expected Outcome: • Infographics to reach Tumbuka-speaking audiences to help spread awareness about the national dialogues. • Teamwork and collaboration with the UNRCO
