Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The UN Secretary-General's Development System reform, launched on 1 January 2019 in response to General Assembly resolution 71/243, repositions the UN Development System to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for dignity, prosperity and peace on a healthy planet. Central to this process, and as further mandated by General Assembly resolution 72/279, a new generation of UN Resident Coordinator Offices across the world are being strengthened under the leadership of an empowered UN Resident Coordinator, the highest-ranking representative of the UN Development System at country level. The RC Office seeks to contract a digital photographer to create photos which will provide media assets to highlight meetings and events held during high level visits. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Communication Team lead, the photographer will provide photos from The photographer will deliver a minimum of 10 high resolution photographs per event.
Qualifications/special skills
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational certificate. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in photography is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; For this position, fluency in Arabic is required. Knowledge of English is desirable. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
