You have:

  • A university degree in web development and/or marketing and communications related area is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in SEO, SEM, Analytics, and use of mar-com technical stack tools is required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Proven experience with tools like Mailchimp, Hubspot, Salesforce Einstein, Google Ads, MOZ, Convertflow is required.
  • Savvyness with code and Drupal CMS to address schema mark up is desirable.

Result of Service UNEP Key MTS priority areas like Climate and Marine and Fresh Water within Ecosystems & Biodiversity become dominant on Google Search via SEO and SEM efforts. Sharper delivery of analytics on campaign pledges that ultimately demonstrate how UNEP Communication has moved the needle on behavior change through advocacy efforts.

Expected duration The duration of this consultancy is 6 months at level "A".

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP's mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP's Communications Division communicates UNEP's core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide.

BACKGROUND:

As digital and remote work dominate our lives, the website becomes an increasing important touch point for any organization. With a recent migration of domain to unep.org we have lost substantial web ranking on Google Search. Our ambition on key environmental priorities do not match the Google Search results on key environmental terms. Additionally, the digital landscape has progressed to a sophisticated one, where detailed analytics on user behavior can be provided. UNEP is under increasing pressure to demonstrate efficacy of its campaign efforts and show how it is moving the needle on behavior change

The consultant shall report to Head of Web and will carry out the following duties:

_ Search Engine optimization of unep.org and specific campaign sites _ Paid Search implementation, optimization and reporting _ Behavior Change tracking across platforms _ Work with key UNEP personnel and campaign coordinators. _ Campaigns optimization on Hubspot and Convertflow _ Analytics and reporting _ Paid search vendor management

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A university degree in in web development and/or marketing and communications related area is required.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in SEO, SEM, Analytics, and use of mar-com technical stack tools like Mailchimp, Hubspot, Salesforce Einstein, Google Ads, MOZ, Convertflow is required. Proven experience with tools like InVision, Zeplin, Figma. Savvyness with code and Drupal CMS to address schema mark up is desirable.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this assignment, fluency in written and spoken English is required.
