Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment." Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP's Law Division works with international and national partners, providing technical assistance and capacity development for the implementation of environmental policy, and strengthening the environmental management capacity of developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

UNEP is an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. That role is discharged through the Law Division's OzonAction Branch, whose goal is to enable developing countries to meet and sustain their compliance obligations under the treaty. OzonAction’s Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) provides a range of services and project implementation support to assist those countries. As part of the latter, the Latin America and the Caribbean CAP team provides technical assistance for the control of trade of HCFC-based substances and equipment, as part of the activities for the implementation of the HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) phase-out management plan in the Region.

In line with OzonAction's mandate, ROLAC CAP team requires the services of a consultant to assist in the development of technical outreach materials and provide technical support for project implementation to the ROLAC team.

Provide technical assistance both remotely and face to face (if feasible) to OzonAction LAC team. Specifically, the consultant will be responsible for the following actions:

- Prepare, review, and adjust terms of references for SSAs. - Prepare, review, and adjust SSFAs and Amendments for Latin America and The Caribbean Region. - Support the OzonAction LAC team with the selection and follow-up with suppliers to procurement processes. - Support the management of DSA payments and air-tickets of participants to physical meetings. - Support the management of travel for consultants. - Create and plan the strategic work plan for digital products and awareness projects related to ROLAC team (Publications, videos, events, workshops, conferences, virtual meetings, seminars, etc) - Support the implementation and execution of work plans related to the development of digital products and awareness projects related to ROLAC. - Prepare presentations and invitations for events, workshops, conferences, virtual meetings, etc. - Organize and update digital project management systems as Trello and websites. - Edit and review styling and format for digital products as publications - Assist in the compilation and input of data to complete reports, databases, dashboards, global contact information table, etc. - Work closely with other consultants of the LAC Region. - Other tasks requested by the regional coordinators and the information officer.

Qualifications/special skills- University Degree in International Affairs, Management, Public Administration, or related areas is required. - Master’s degree or specialization in environmental management, digital business or related area is highly desirable. At least 5 years of professional experience in management and supporting sustainable projects, is required. Proven experience in the organizing and executing of meetings, seminars and workshops is highly desirable. Familiar with UN Environment’s Montreal Protocol, is highly desirable. Experience in working with intergovernmental institutions, is highly desirable.

Languages Spanish and English are among the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position excellent oral and written command in Spanish and English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
