Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for this position.*** **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) is UNESCO’s first education- related category 1 institute in the Asia and the Pacific region towards the development and promotion of new approaches to education for a more peaceful and sustainable world. The Institute is a leader in the conceptualization, design, and formulation of program and content development in education for peace and sustainable development, by drawing from the latest research from the science of learning with a particular focus on social emotional learning and seeks to translate robust replicable scientific evidence to pedagogical design, competency development for whole brain learning. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall guidance of the Director of the Institute and direct supervision of the Senior National Project Officer, the incumbent will serve as the primary program resource for content and competency development of modules to create rich immersive learning experience for learners, that build cognitive, academic and socio-emotional skills, using digital pedagogies. The incumbent will also be required to conduct pilot testing of developed modules using good research design, on UNESCO MGIEP’s learning platform Framerspace ([www.framerspace.com](http://www.framerspace.com)), and analyse results for publication. The themes for modules will be contemporary and in line with global UNESCO goals. Long Description ---------------- **Duties and Responsibilities** Working within the framework of the Institute's programmes and budget and in liaison with the UNESCO Headquarters group on Global Citizenship and Education for Peace, the incumbent will contribute to the development, implementation, and reporting on MGIEP Strategy for delivering SDG 4.7: The incumbent will carry out the following tasks and responsibilities: - Conduct relevant background research to develop and design content and assessments for courses that build cognitive, academic and social and emotional learning competencies for teachers and students using interactive digital learning experiences on Framerspace. - Design and implement pilot research studies to test the efficacy of courses. - Communicate results of pilot studies to high-impact journals and present at conferences. - Train and disseminate contents of the online courses to members of the capacity building team for dissemination. - Support the capacity building team to contextualize it to the cultural environment. - Design and conduct research in collaboration with capacity building to evaluate the impact of large-scale implementation. - Support institute-wide activities as and when they arise. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education Qualification**: - An advanced university degree (equivalent to a Master’s) in education/ education technology/ instructional design/ digital experience design/ other related fields **Work Experience:** - Minimum 2 years of work experience in digital immersive content development. - Experience in digital instructional design. - Experience in conducting research studies with schools and implementation partners. - Familiarity with simple statistical analysis.
