UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, ADVOCACY.

The war in Ukraine has led to the forced displacement of people at a scale and speed not seen since World War II. Over 5.8 million Ukrainians – mostly children and mothers – have fled to countries across Europe, and over 3.6 million have registered for Temporary Protection or similar national protection. Poland has welcomed the vast majority of women and children seeking temporary protection.

The UNICEF Emergency Response Office in Poland was established in record time to strengthen the national, municipal and local systems already delivering essential services and protection.
