Produce creative copy and digital assets for UN campaigns on social media.
You have:
- BA in Digital Media, Social Media Marketing and Production, Visual Communications, Video Production, Journalism, Advertising or related field is required.
- Master's degree is desirable.
- At least 5+ years of experience writing for digital campaigns, primarily on social media is required.
- Excellent creative campaign writing skills for various digital media forms, especially short-form graphics on social media is required.
- Experience producing and writing for social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), campaign websites and/or advertising platforms is required.
- Experience working for international organizations, design firm, advertising or in-house creative department is required.
- Experience writing web feature and explainer pieces is desirable.
- Experience with third-party social and design tools, such as Canva and Trello, is required.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
Result of Service Delivery of creative copy and digital assets for UN campaigns, primarily optimized for social media.
Work Location Home-based
Expected duration 6 months
Duties and Responsibilities - Pitch, script and produce engaging short-form digital assets optimized for the UN’s global social media platforms on UN Campaign topics. This includes researching, fact checking and turning complex information and key messages into compelling campaign copy that inspires action and raises awareness.
Mock-up/storyboard proposed assets and design/produce digital assets, as needed.
As part of larger campaign projects, collaborate with senior graphic designer and video/motion designer producer to write campaign content for static or motion assets.
Occasionally, pitch and write explainer and action-focused content in the form of listicles, photo essays, quizzes and timelines for UN Campaign sites.
Campaign topics can include, but are not limited to, Water Conference, Countering Hate Speech, Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Action, Peace and Security and general social evergreen videos.
Find emerging social content trends to participate in when it makes sense for the UN around its key campaign areas and pitch new ideas.
Keep up-to-date with new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them in order to identify new campaigning opportunities.
Analyze digital analytics to support the expansion of the UN’s reach over social media and web around its campaign topics.
