Uganda remains at risk of infectious disease outbreaks, including Ebola Virus Disease, which requires sustained public awareness and prevention efforts. Limited access to timely, accurate information and health services, particularly in hard-to-reach communities, increases vulnerability to misinformation and delayed care-seeking behaviour. In collaboration with UNV, UN Women Uganda is implementing a digital awareness campaign to strengthen public understanding of Ebola prevention, early detection, and appropriate response measures.

UN Women Uganda is seeking an experienced and creative Online Volunteer to support its communications team in designing and disseminating a digital awareness campaign on Ebola prevention and response.

The volunteer will support the development and sharing of approved messaging on Ebola risks, prevention measures, and the importance of early medical attention. They will also help amplify verified

  • Candidates should have prior experience in public awareness campaigns, community engagement, and social mobilization, including behavior change communication.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, X, Facebook, and similar channels) is highly desirable.
