The External and Corporate Relations Editorial and Digital (ECRED) team manages the World Bank external corporate presence and reputation through its digital platforms: creating distinct content that supports the mission of the Bank, serving as governing body to ensure all Bank digital properties meet quality standards, and measuring the impact of communication through research, insights and analytics.
As a core member of ECRED’s Business Intelligence Team, the Digital Analyst works closely with other communication professionals across the World Bank (including content producers, communications strategy planners and IT solutions team) to provide insights on the effectiveness of digital communications and marketing strategies. S/he is a trusted advisor in all things related to Digital Analytics and regularly delivers data-driven insights and recommendations to improve the impact of the Bank’s digital presence and campaigns.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, detailed-focus individual who gets excited by data analysis and its potential—and who is eager to dig deep to find those insights that can make all the difference. The successful candidate can discover and articulate actionable insights from large amounts of data. S/he has demonstrated hands-on experience with Adobe Analytics, and ideally campaign and/or social media measurement. Search Engine Optimization experience is a plus.
This is an Extended Term Full-Time Consultancy for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The job is based in Washington, D.C. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Website Measurement, Health & Success
- Responsible for Adobe Analytics measurement, on both new and existing platforms, ensuring reliability and integrity of data. - Analyzes audience level data to understand user behavior in the World Bank website across devices, countries, languages and channels. - Works with the Bank’s Information Technology Solutions team to ensure technical specifications for the web metrics solution (e.g., eVars, Props) and for digital 3rd parties (social media and Google Ads pixels and CIDs/UTMs) are set up in accordance with the Bank’s strategic measurement goals. - Makes recommendations for optimizing Bank’s website user experience (UX) and for personalizing content delivery based on insights derived from behavioral, demographic and contextual data. - Monitors levels of traffic to key content from Search Engines and identifies risks and opportunities including through keyword research and SEO tools such as Google Search Console
2. Data Interpretation, Insights & Standards
- Identifies business insights and articulates actionable recommendations to inform organic and paid digital marketing campaigns by analyzing large amounts of data (web, social media, e-mail marketing, multimedia metrics). - Contributes to establishing corporate standards for the web, social media, newsletters and paid campaigns—including developing goal-setting frameworks, KPIs and producing reporting templates to ensure and encourage optimal channel use. - Creates comprehensive, insightful, and visually attractive reports, scorecards and dashboards (ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly and end-of-year); identifies trends, opportunities, and insights from these reports and regularly presents recommendations to communication colleagues.
3. Support, Guidance, Training
- Supports teams across the World Bank in establishing measurement best practices for digital communication activities (web, social media and e-mail marketing) — including KPI recommendations, conversion goals, standardized reporting frameworks — and helps them interpret data to create actionable business insights. - Provides Adobe Analytics trainings, customizing sessions based on business needs, through webinars, workshops, office hours, and one-on-one sessions. - Maintains and updates the Web Analytics intranet site; evaluates the user experience to increase usage and ease of navigation—and promotes its resources via internal communications channels.

Selection Criteria
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, and preferably two years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical:
- Expert in Adobe Analytics including building out complex segments, developing calculated metrics and using Workspace—knowledge of Report Builder a plus - Robust understanding of Adobe Analytics technical specifications including eVars and Props for use in building out segments, testing implementation and translating business needs into requirements with IT colleagues. - Advanced experience developing and using campaign tracking codes (CIDs/UTMs) to segment and measure and communication and marketing campaigns--experience of A/B testing and measurement a plus. - Advanced Familiarity with social media metrics and experience mapping Adobe Analytics data back to respective platforms. - Experience pulling and analyzing paid marketing data from social media ads platforms—a plus . - Strong analytical skills and proven experience identifying opportunities for optimization from multiple data sets - Advanced Excel, including advanced functions, pivot-tables and chart creation—for data manipulation. - Demonstrable experience of detail-focused processes and QA in ensuring accuracy of analysis. - Strong PowerPoint skills with experience conveying complex data driven insights and recommendations in a concise and engaging manner. - Experience optimizing web content for SEO, on page and/or technical - The following skills would be a further plus
- Knowledge of social media listening platforms (e.g., Talk walker, Brand watch). - Experience creating and managing BI dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or similar tools.
