You have:
- Advanced university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in communication, journalism, international relations, political science or related field
- Proven experience in press relations and/or media relations, preferably in an international context or with media with an international audience
- Experience in writing professional-quality press releases, opinion pieces or editorial content
- Experience in the United Nations system, international organizations or NGOs would be an asset
- An existing network of media contacts would be a significant advantage
- Excellent writing skills in French (English is a strong asset)
- Ability to write content in English

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in approximately 170 countries and territories, contributing to poverty eradication, reducing inequalities and building resilience. In Côte d'Ivoire, UNDP is supporting the country in the implementation of its National Development Plan and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, in accordance with the fundamental principle of "leaving no one behind". UNDP Côte d'Ivoire is working in three priority areas: • Democratic governance, peacebuilding and the rule of law • Sustainable development, inclusive growth and innovation • Climate resilience, disaster prevention and ecological transition In an increasingly competitive international media landscape, UNDP Côte d'Ivoire needs to significantly strengthen its visibility with the international media and audiences. The country office's achievements in governance, sustainable development and climate resilience deserve a wider echo beyond national borders. This assignment aims to deploy a proactive strategy to mobilize the international media in order to: (i) amplify the narrative of UNDP Côte d'Ivoire's results on the global stage; (ii) build a sustainable international media network; (iii) position the country office as a key player in development debates in West Africa. The contribution of online volunteers through this assignment directly supports UNDP's efforts to achieve SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Task description
Under the general supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative and the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Online Volunteer will be responsible for the following tasks:
Digital amplification and online visibility • Contribute to the content dissemination strategy on digital platforms (UNDP website, social media, international opinion platforms) • Identify and recommend strategic online media platforms (The Conversation, Devex, Inter Press Service, AllAfrica, etc.) for the publication of opinion pieces and analyses • Support colleagues in the office in writing and placing articles in online media with an international audience • Produce a bi-monthly report tracking media coverage and developments in international visibility
The writing and distribution of articles must respect the graphic charter and editorial guidelines, which will be communicated in advance with the volunteers.
Education
• Advanced university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in communication, journalism, international relations, political science or related field

Languages
• French: compulsory (excellent written and oral fluency)
• English: strongly desired (ability to write content in English)
