The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a humanitarian organization that helps people affected by conflict and disaster to rebuild their lives. NRC also believes that digital transformation can help achieve the mission. The D-Team is NRC's internal product development team focused on building digital solutions to help the people we work with and NRC's staff in the field. Our projects range from a learning platform for children to digital cash distribution systems. We work closely with our teams in the field to serve their needs in difficult environments.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Azure infrastructure and ensuring that our software development process is streamlined and efficient. You will work closely with our development teams to automate our CI/CD pipeline, manage our cloud infrastructure, and ensure that our services are highly available, scalable, and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly available and scalable solutions on the Azure platform
  • Automate the software development lifecycle using Azure DevOps tools
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify areas for improvement in our development process
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure issues
  • Ensure that all systems and applications are highly available and performant
  • Implement security measures to protect our infrastructure and data
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Azure and DevOps
  • Design and implement best practices across NRC

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure infrastructure management and DevOps
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline automation
  • Strong experience in infrastructure as code, with terraform
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as App Service, Storage Accounts, Azure databases, and Azure AD
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Bonus

  • Knowledge of other cloud computing services, such as AWS

The team is based in Berlin, Germany but candidates from any country where NRC has an office will be considered.
