Salary

The salary for this job should be between 105,180 USD and 137,726 USD.

Salary for a P-3 contract in Nairobi

The international rate of 74,649 USD, with an additional 40.9% (post adjustment) at this the location, applies. Please note that depending on the location, a higher post adjustment might still result in a lower purchasing power.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The main responsibilities related to the development assignment are as follows:

Within the framework of the delegated authority, the incumbent is assigned all or part of the following responsibilities:

1. Prepare draft and final proposals as well as technical reports forregional and country-level activities to donors based on inputs received from technical teams and messages from the External Relations (EXR) team.

2. Monitor funding proposals, grants implementation rates and reporting deadlines in accordance with donors' specific reporting schedules and requirements.

3. Work with technical units at all levels of the organization to facilitate and consolidate the results of operational planning, in particular to define the resource requirements for WHO/WHE activities and staff.

4. Disseminate information to RO and CO levels on standard policies and procedures for resource and grant management, gather information on best practices and lessons learned; serve as a reference point for ROs/COs in this regard.

5. Update and maintain the global grant and finance tracking system for WHO's work in humanitarian emergencies to monitor deadlines for submission of proposals and reports to donors.

6. Perform other related duties including replacing and backstopping as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: A first university degree in business administration, management or closely related field Desirable: An advanced university degree (Masters level or above) in business administration, management or closely related field.Additional certification in financial management

Experience

Essential: At least 5 years' experience in financial and resource management, in management and administration as well as in grant proposal, report writing and financial/grant tracking or similar experience in a relevant field. Experience working in donor relations in the context of emergency work. Desirable: Experience in developing frameworks and timelines for donor submissions

REMUNERATION

Your current contractual arrangements and benefits will not be affected.

If your developmental assignment involves a short-term move to another duty station, you will receive a DSA at 50% of the current rate.

Travel costs in economy classwill be covered. However, this rate may be increased at the discretion of the receiving unit if the security situation of the temporary duty station so warrants. If you assume the full functions of a higher-level post, which vacancy or temporarily vacant, you may be eligible for acting pay.

When the staff members are deployed to another duty station:

  • Given the time limited nature of STDAs, staff members will be assigned without their families. They will retain their existing remuneration package (for example, IPs would maintain salary, post adjustment, education grant, rental subsidy, as applicable) of their official duty station.
  • From the first month of a STDA, staff members will receive the hotel component of the first 60 days DSA rate of the duty station where they will be temporarily based throughout the entire assignment. This hotel component percentage is calculated by the ICSC.
