Job description

Kenya is the host of a vibrant and diverse digital community. The Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) Kenya supports the country’s transition towards a sustainable and human-centred digital economy. It seeks to strengthen the existing digital innovation ecosystem, while also addressing the wider societal impact of digital technologies. Given Kenya’s leadership role at a regional level, the DTC likewise supports the country in developing and sharing good digital practice and further operationalising its digitalisation strategy, the Digital Economy Blueprint.

Your tasks

  • Support the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Innovation and Youth Affairs – following a think-and-do-tank approach – in turning the Blueprint into action
  • Set up and accompany consultancy assignments for the development of action plans, road maps and policy papers, e.g. on open data, green ICT or gender-based online violence
  • Organise hackathons, co-creative design workshops and other innovation formats with stakeholders from government, private sector, academia and civil society
  • Support activities by implementing partners and ensure that quality results are delivered in a timely manner
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluation of project activities and reporting
  • Coordinate meetings and events with partners, service providers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Support the knowledge management of the DTC, including documentation of lessons learnt, best practices, case studies and success stories
  • Support the preparation of communication materials and progress updates to Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and other stakeholders

Your profile

  • University degree in social sciences, economics, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, development policy or any other relevant subject area; a focus on digital topics is desirable
  • Strong project management skills and work experience regarding digital projects, ideally in an international development cooperation context
  • Sound knowledge and proven work experience with regards to digital transformation topics
  • Strong communication skills and work experience in the field of digital communication
  • Self-starter who enjoys the proactive development of new ideas and working independently
  • Excellent organisational skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong intercultural competences and a team player
  • Fluency in English
