Develop disability-inclusive social media content for GBV awareness

You have:

  • Experience in inclusive communication, accessibility, or digital media
  • Familiarity with disability rights and gender equality frameworks
  • Fluency in English (Russian or Uzbek an asset)
  • Ability to write or adapt messages for social media
  • Previous work in GBV, SRHR, or intersectional advocacy
  • Design or layout familiarity (Canva, PowerPoint, or similar)
  • Understanding of Easy-to-Read and non-ableist language practices

Expected Deliverables (4 Weeks – May 2025): • Week 1: Onboarding, review of UNFPA/UNV messaging guidelines, and selection of target topics • Week 2: Submission of draft message texts and visual concepts (min. 3) • Week 3: Integration of feedback and refinement of designs/messages • Week 4: Submission of final set (3–5 posts) in editable format (e.g. Canva or Word) o Short tip-sheet: “Making Your Social Media Posts More Accessible”

Online Volunteers will work closely with UNFPA Uzbekistan’s Communications and GBV focal points to: • Review existing GBV-related outreach messages and visuals • Identify content and format gaps for women and girls with disabilities • Co-design 3 to 5 social media messages or visual posts that: o Are accessible (e.g., include alt text, simple language, high contrast) o Use inclusive and non-ableist language o Reflect the lived experiences of women and girls with disabilities o Can be published during May Inclusion Initiative or 16 Days of Activism (adaptable) • Provide short accessibility guidelines for social media teams (alt text use, layout tips, inclusive tone) Optional: Suggest hashtags, content schedule, or partner tagging strategies.
