UNOV/UNODC is committed to representing the people we serve in its workforce. Fostering the diversity, equity and inclusion of staff at UNOV/UNODC is a key component. Communicating effectively about this internally (e.g. to educate existing staff) are of greatest importance to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women, geographic representation and the inclusion of people with disabilities. An appealing and consistent branding in such communication will help to raise awareness and improve the usability of the offices communication products.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shape this branding and the design of our communication material by implementing own ideas into practice and therefore contribute to the success of the offices aspirations of becoming more diverse and inclusive. They will get first hand insights into UNOV/UNODCs work on DEI, apply and expand knowledge in graphic design as well as their written communication skills.

We are looking for 1 Online Volunteer who under the guidance of Vanessa Holtze, DEI Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Staffing Team support with the visual design for internal communication on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to:

  • Design an internal branding for our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion communication, including a logo and color scheme, which is then applied to a MS PowerPoint and Word template)

In line with this branding, the Online Volunteer is asked to:

  • Professionalise the design of an internal page on Diversity matters for staff members in MS sharepoint

  • Develop a design concept for an annual report on gender balance and geographic representation in line with the organisation's guidance

Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing online as well as offline material, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Experience with work on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well as Human Resources experience is desirable.
