You have:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in digital communications, graphic design, product design, web design, motion graphics, illustration, photography, videography, advertising or another relevant field.
- At least two years of professional experience in digital communications or related fields, with a proven track record of producing high-quality audiovisual products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, colour theory, typography and motion graphics across diverse projects.
- Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, photo and video editing, and the use of Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong organisational, time and asset management skills, paired with creative conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced (C1) command of English and intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official EU language.

Your team Your position will be part of the Design & Digital Division within the Directorate General Communications. The Division oversees the ECB’s digital communications, encompassing areas such as institutional branding, audiovisual production, web design and development, digital distribution of official and expert publications and event management.
Your work as a Design Specialist, will be dedicated entirely to supporting the Digital Euro Outreach team and overall the Positioning and Outreach Division of the Directorate Digital Euro. The Directorate is responsible for fostering public understanding of, and trust in, the digital euro. It designs, develops and implements the digital euro’s overall positioning and outreach strategy, ensuring coherent and effective communication with stakeholders and the public. The Directorate plays a leading role in shaping the future of European payments, ensuring that people across the euro area continue to benefit from secure, convenient and innovative ways to pay – whether in cash or digitally. You will work closely with others in our Directorate General as part of cross-divisional teams handling strategic communication projects or urgent tasks.

Your role As a Design Specialist you will:
- conceptualise, design, develop and refine branded assets, templates and guidelines for the successful execution of the digital euro communications plan and brand rollout; - collaborate with various internal stakeholders, external contractors and creative agencies to coordinate asset creation for digital euro activities, campaigns and brand positioning; - ensure audiovisual and social media content aligns with the digital euro brand and the ECB’s editorial calendar; - organise and manage brand assets in the digital asset management system, ensuring easy access and adherence to branding guidelines; - track and analyse the performance and impact of external communications across digital platforms and provide insights for optimisation; - stay informed about market trends and provide strategic recommendations for future digital euro communications initiatives.

Qualifications, experience and skills Essential:
- a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in digital communications, graphic design, product design, web design, motion graphics, illustration, photography, videography, advertising or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences); - in addition to the above, at least two years of professional experience in one or more of the aforementioned fields, working successfully in a team and with a proven track record of producing high-quality audiovisual products; - a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, colour theory, typography and motion graphics across diverse projects, including social media campaigns, brand identity, infographics, web design and other storytelling video productions; - proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, photo and video editing and the use of graphic design and video editing software, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, etc.); - strong organisational, time and asset management skills, paired with creative conceptual thinking, effective presentation, problem-solving abilities and effective vendor management skills; - an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- a master’s degree in digital communications, graphic design, product design, web design, motion graphics, illustration, photography, videography and/or advertising; - expertise in photography, video recording and video editing demonstrated by related portfolio samples; - a sound understanding of visual communications strategies for prominent private and/or public institutions, covering a variety of topics; - previous experience working in a similar field in an international environment.

Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
