Job Overview/Summary: The IRC is seeking a Deputy Director for Switchboard, an Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded program. Switchboard is a one-stop resource hub for refugee service providers in the United States. Switchboard provides training and capacity-building services to ORR-funded refugee service providers in the United States, including resettlement agencies and affiliates, state agencies, ethnic community-based organizations, and others. The Deputy Director will be responsible for supporting the Project Director in key aspects of project strategy and management, including designing and leading Switchboard’s training and technical assistance strategy across all program areas. This position supervises Switchboard’s team of training officers in addition to independent consultants and occasional staff engaged in training.

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership

- Advise Director, Switchboard on overall direction for the Switchboard project. - Provide coverage for Director, Switchboard when out of office or otherwise unavailable (provide guidance and direction to team, join senior meetings, cover project management and budgeting tasks, and report to Sr. Director, Learning, on project status) - Represent Switchboard at external in-person events/meetings approximately two times per year

Supervision

- Supervise and support Training team focused on cultural awareness, case management, mental health and wellness, community integration, economic empowerment, child and family services, and other relevant training topics - Manage an ongoing rotation of two to four independent consultants engaged in training and technical assistance projects. Lead consultant meetings and provide direction and feedback on deliverables and timelines. - Oversee work of part-time and occasional contributors to the Training team

Training and Technical Assistance

- Lead strategy for development of Switchboard’s training and technical assistance materials, including webinars, self-paced e-learning, online certificate courses, etc. - Oversee provision of consultation, guidance, and recommended resources in response to questions and technical assistance requests. - Oversee development of relevant learning resources such as information guides, blog posts, podcasts, videos, etc. - Lead special TTA projects, including intensive capacity-building work in response to rapidly evolving resettlement landscape - Take a leading role in the development of Switchboard’s annual TTA workplan. - Ensure related trainings and learning resources are developed and delivered on time and on budget.

Monitoring and Evaluation

- Oversee tracking of related TTA outputs and outcomes against targets (materials developed, trainings delivered, individuals participating, etc.) - Together with Training Officers and Switchboard’s M&E team, review and analyze feedback data from related TTA participants

- Oversee provision of inputs into Switchboard reports, including monthly activity updates and semi-annual Performance Progress Reports.

Job Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree in relevant field, such as Master of Social Work (MSW), or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

- Demonstrated leadership experience, with 6+ years leading teams in the resettlement space - Excellent people management skills, including ability to navigate differing perspectives/priorities. make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts - Commitment to principles of gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in recruitment and people management - Demonstrated knowledge of key partners in the resettlement landscape including federal agencies, service providers, and technical assistance providers - Demonstrated experience managing independent consultants/contractors and/or sub-award partnerships - Experience providing or supervising training and technical assistance to build capacity of refugee service providers, particularly casework/case management staff - Experience contributing to or supervising project M&E (data collection, management, and reporting)

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong familiarity with relevant Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded programs including: Preferred Communities, Refugee Support Services, Refugee Health Promotion, etc. - Familiarity with and commitment to data-driven, evidence-based programming - Excellent written and oral communication skills, with evidence of ability to build capacity of staff at multiple levels - Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects with strict timelines

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirement.
