Overview
Contribute to decentralization program implementation and stakeholder management.
You have:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, international development, economics, or a related field is required.
- A university degree in law and certification in local development would be an added advantage.
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in a deadline driven development-programme implementation, reporting and donor relations environment.
- A combination of professional training, certification and international experience in local governance and decentralisation.
- Experience in strategic planning.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government officials, NGOs, academia, media, national and international experts and consultants.
- Experience in building capacities of local government and local civil society organisations.
- Strong reporting skills and proven ability to produce quality analytical work.
- Sound knowledge of local development and peacebuilding principles.
- Previous experience in external communication.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external stakeholder relationships (e.g. donor and implementing partner relationships).
- Experience in peace, human security and gender mainstreaming; EU programme implementation experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to establish effective working relations in a multicultural team environment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with UNDP rules and procedures is highly desirable.
- Previous working experience in Jordan is highly desirable.
- Openness to change and ability to receive and integrate feedback.
- Experience in the use of computers applications and software packages (MS Power Business Intelligence, Word, Excel, etc.) as well as web-based management systems.
- Fluent in English; Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
