Organizational context The present position, part of UNHCR Division of External Relations, sits in the Private Sector Partnerships Unit in Italy, whose objectives are to raise funds from private donors, build and strengthen a supporter base and contribute to enhance public awareness and sympathy for refugees and people we serve as UNHCR. The position is part of the PSP DB&Analysis team, which takes care of the Database and CRM infrastructure, Software Architecture, Data Strategy and Quality, Analysis and Support to all the areas of Business (Individual Giving and Private Partnership and Philanthropy), within the Private Sector Partnership unit.
The position The internship program will mainly focus on Data management and analysis whose responsible is the CRM Manager (PSP Individual Giving Associate Database & Analysis) who will directly supervise the Intern. The supervisor will define work objectives and will provide regular advice and guidance. The incumbent’s workload and the assignments will remain under constant scrutiny and direction of the supervisor. The incumbent will assist the Supervisor in the Data management, maintenance and quality tasks. S/he will keep frequent contact with staff at various levels in the office and with external services and suppliers (such as the CRM infrastructure and Data Quality services providers) to exchange information and complete tasks.
Duties and responsibilities • Provide support to deliver reports and analysis, conduct data queries, selections and analysis to support various projects. • Support to the Salesforce project implementation, e.g. Data Quality activities to prepare for Data Migration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify that a required functionality has been delivered to scope and is fit for purpose. • Data entry activities to support the maintenance and update of the database • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and managing data from various sources. • Assist in developing and implementing database management procedures. Provide support on data quality issues upon request. • Provide support on periodic reconciliation tasks. • Perform data cleansing activities in the PSP Italy CRM, to merge and convert duplicated contacts in order to increase the accuracy of the information of PSP Italy donor base by using the CRM and advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities, in accordance with specifications and guidelines provided by the CRM team. • Research: conduct literature reviews and background research upon request. • Use statistical tools and software to interpret data sets and identify trends or patterns. • Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis. • Work closely with team members and other departments. • Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Minimum qualifications required In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria: • Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
NOTE: An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.

Critical thinking and problem solving.
Additionally, given that the intern shall liaise with external services and suppliers, proficiency in Italian is required.
Conditions It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9.00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to the PSP Support the team in Rome, Italy. Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
