UNICEF Timor-Leste has been working to improve the lives of children and their families and works to bring basic services and opportunities to all children in Timor-Leste, including in education, health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, social protection and inclusion. In the education sector, a key area of focus is early childhood education. Pre-primary education is an efficient and effective way to promote children’s lifetime outcomes, yet less than 1 in 4 preschool-age children is enrolled. The current volunteer opportunity is part of a greater advocacy campaign on early childhood education, which aims to convince decision-makers to increase investment in preschool. The objective of the data visualization product is to make data 'come alive', to capture decision-makers' attention and secure their support for expansion of pre-primary education. A secondary objective is to bring greater attention to data/evidence, with a 'wow effect' that would encourage the public to make greater use of available evidence.
