This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.
OHCHR OPT regularly publishes data on human rights conditions in Gaza and the West Bank, including figures on casualties, displacement, detention, access restrictions, and violations of international law. This data is drawn from verified corporate sources and UN system partners.
Making this information accessible to broader audiences requires translation into clear, shareable visual formats. This role supports the Public Information team in converting corporate data into social media-ready graphics and short data videos that extend the reach of OHCHR OPT's public communications.
The Online Volunteer will produce high-quality data visualisation content — including static design cards and short motion graphics — based on data and thematic directions provided by the OHCHR OPT Public Information team.
Under the supervision of the Head of Communications, the Online Volunteer will:
Design static infographic cards for social media (primarily WhatsApp, Facebook, and X/Twitter) based on data and messaging provided by the Public Information team;
Produce short data videos or animated graphics (15–60 seconds) for use across OHCHR OPT's social media channels;
Work within OHCHR's visual identity guidelines;
Incorporate feedback from the Head of Communications and Head of Office and revise designs accordingly within agreed turnaround times;
Propose creative approaches to recurring data themes to support a coherent visual communications strategy.
The volunteers are expected to deliver: - Delivered within 5 working days of each brief: Short data videos / motion graphics (where applicable) - End of assignment: Organised asset archive (shared drive)
